ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintains ongoing, high-level surveillance of patients' cardiac rhythms and notifies nursing clinicians of any rate / rhythm changes according to clinician / provider orders.
• Collection of data necessary for placement of telemetry
• Measures and interprets patients' heart rhythm and documents on patient record per department standards. of intervals for strip documentation
• Ectopy checks twice per shift
• Daily telemetry box maintenance
• Answers telephone and communicates clearly when receiving information from units or providers. Uses clear and complete communication with the unit personnel when delivering information about changes in patient rhythm.
• Accurate charging of telemetry, chart maintenance
• EKG procedures.
• The Monitor Technician maintains the highest standards of practice in the clinical setting and is responsible for creating exceptional patient / family experiences during the delivery of this care.
