Job Description

JT Manufacturing is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist and Programmer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines to produce high-precision components in accordance with technical specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Programming : Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD / CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) to produce parts that meet engineering drawings and specifications.

Machine Setup : Set up CNC machines (lathes, mills, or multi-axis machines) by selecting appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials.

Operation : Operate CNC machines to produce parts, ensuring adherence to tolerances, quality standards, and production schedules.

Quality Control : Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to verify compliance with specifications.

Tool Maintenance : Select, install, and maintain cutting tools, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.

Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve machining issues, such as tool wear, machine malfunctions, or program errors.

Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production data, including setup sheets, tool lists, and inspection reports.

Continuous Improvement : Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.

Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CNC machinist, with at least 2 years of CNC programming experience.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code).

Experience with CAD / CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).

Familiarity with a variety of CNC machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, Okuma).

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Soft Skills :

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and supervisors.

Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with 5-axis CNC machining.

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.

Familiarity with ERP systems for production tracking.
