Overview
We are seeking a skilled System Engineer to support engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance functions within our electric distribution system. This position will focus on SCADA operations, AMI system management, and system protection and design . The ideal candidate will be technically strong, detail-oriented, and excited to work with a broad range of technologies to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of utility operations.
Responsibilities
- Engineering Services : Assist in the development of long- and short-term system work plans and sectionalizing studies
- Analyze equipment specifications and performance requirements
- Support load studies, voltage drop analysis, fault current analysis, and system improvements
- Maintain system records, databases, and collaborate with third-party engineering consultants
SCADA Operations
Design, implement, and maintain SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and controlTroubleshoot and resolve SCADA hardware / software / communication issuesMonitor performance, apply patches, and ensure system security and complianceIntegrate SCADA with other automation and enterprise systemsAdvanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
Oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of AMI meters and devicesMonitor and analyze AMI data, ensuring accuracy and timely reportingTroubleshoot connectivity and data discrepanciesCollaborate with IT, operations, and field teams to optimize AMI integrationCollaboration & Compliance
Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goalsImplement cybersecurity measures to protect systems and dataEnsure compliance with all regulatory and industry standardsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Power SystemsDistribution engineering experience in an electric utility setting preferredStrong computer and technical skills, with attention to detail and accuracyExcellent oral and written communication skillsValid Indiana Driver's License (or ability to obtain)CPR and First Aid certification required (training provided if needed)What We Offer
