The Accounting Supervisor oversees, guides, and motivates the accounting team to ensure the accurate and timely completion of financial information related to property, plant, and equipment; construction work in progress; inventory; and transportation allocations. This role ensures that all accounting activities and reporting comply with GAAP and company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, principles, and company policies related to property and inventory accounting.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of project, asset, and inventory subledgers.
• Manage month-end close, year-end close, and other reporting deadlines related to plant accounting.
• Develop and compile budgetary information related to depreciation and property taxes.
• Partner with business units to evaluate proposed projects, determine capitalization requirements, assess open project status, and identify assets to place in service or retire.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to research and resolve inventory issues and lead the annual physical inventory process.
• Coordinate with Treasury and other departments to ensure timely and accurate project information.
• Oversee related financial systems, ensuring data integrity, user security, and proper implementation of upgrades.
• Provide leadership, training, and professional development for accounting staff.
• Conduct coaching sessions, performance evaluations, and participate in hiring and disciplinary processes.
• Promote cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives within the group.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Assist the Controller in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to plant and fixed asset accounting.
• Supervise the preparation of annual property tax and quarterly transportation tax filings.
• Coordinate and support external audit activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
