The Millwrights will install and / or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. Site specific training / orientation is required before arrival to job.

Essential duties and responsibilities include :

• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
• Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
• Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
• Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
• Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
• Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
• Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
• Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts

Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.

Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor

Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Preferred : 4 years work experience as an industrial millwright or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to Millwright work from a vocational institution with 2 years' experience.
