What We're Looking For :
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of general nursing theories and practices
- Ability to assess, manage, and respond to life-threatening conditions and emergencies
- Proficiency in critical medication administration and arrhythmia detection / management
- Ability to evaluate patient acuity using the ESI triage method
- Must demonstrate competency in unit-specific skills
- Capable of managing IV therapy and emergency interventions
- Effective verbal communication and team leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure, evaluate alternatives, and use sound judgment
- Must demonstrate confidentiality, professionalism, tact, and diplomacy
- Willingness to work irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to function as a Charge Nurse when needed
- Required participation in Rapid Response / Code Blue team
Education & Certifications
Current unrestricted RN license in the State of South CarolinaSuccessful completion of nursing service orientation programIV therapy training and / or competency within one yearAnnual participation in Skills Fair and completion of competency checklistsMaintains any required department-specific certificationsMust have current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certificationsTNCC certification required within one year of hire
What You'll Do : Position Summary
Provides direct and / or indirect nursing care under the direction of the Department Director and / or Charge NurseDelivers safe, effective, and professional nursing care to assigned patientsAssesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the healthcare needs of patientsCares for a diverse patient population, from infants to geriatrics (unless otherwise specified)Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomesMaintains a customer-focused approach and supports hospital and unit goalsDelivers nursing care that aligns with established practice standards and clinical guidelinesMust be willing and able to float to other comparable nursing units as needed
