Hess Services, Inc. is seeking a motivated Grit Blaster to join our production team. This role is responsible for preparing metal parts and surfaces for painting by using high-pressure sandblasting and coating techniques. This is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards and production flow.

• Operating high pressure hoses to blast surfaces of tanks or small parts to prepare for paint.
• Sandblasting equipment or tanks. May be indoors or outdoors based on size of project.
• Checks in with supervisor for jobs to start, as needed.
• Comply with prescribed safety procedures or federal laws regulating waste disposal methods.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials and equipment at end of day.
• Regular attendance and timeliness.
• Performs additional duties as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

Additional hazardous waste activities may include, with further training, operating the solvent reclaimer, conducting weekly inspections of hazardous waste storage areas, reviewing / signing waste disposal manifests, moving hazardous waste containers to storage area, cleanup of minor chemical / hazardous waste spills.
