Job Summary :
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, and preparing sub-assemblies and components for use in electrical control equipment. This role requires hands-on assembly, inspection, and testing skills to ensure quality standards are met. Candidates will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support cross-functional operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Assemble panelboards and / or switchboards to customer specifications using schematics and work instructions.
Perform electrical wiring assembly with tools such as wire strippers and pliers.
Inspect and test finished products to verify compliance with standards and specifications.
Maintain expected job progress and communicate part shortages or issues.
Receive, store, and prepare materials for shipment.
Recommend improvements to quality, processes, and environmental safety.
Maintain work area and equipment per 5S guidelines.
Cross-train and support other functions as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience :
Minimum 1 year of assembly experience using hand and / or power tools.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Nice-to-Have Experience :
Assembly experience in automotive, construction, carpentry, or similar industries.
Prior work in electrical or power systems environments.
Required Skills :
Hand and power tool operation
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
Strong communication and teamwork
Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing practices
Knowledge of quality inspection methods
Organizational skills and adaptability
Additional Skills :
Ability to work overtime, including before / after shifts and weekends
Flexibility to cross-train across functions
Ability to meet physical requirements (standing, lifting, handling tools)
