Job Description :
The Anna Jaques Hospital Registered Nurse is an active participant in the health care team who provides direct and indirect care to patients / families / significant others, utilizing the components of the nursing process in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, value and mission behaviors of the of the patient care division.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Advocates for patients and families to ensure positive patient care outcomes.
Documents all changes as well as relevant information regarding patient’s response to intervention, therapeutic regimens, and patient progress as it relates to plan of care and patient’s response to teaching.
Communicates effectively with patients, families' peers and other members of the healthcare team.
Includes patient, family, and caregivers in all aspects of care while ensuring that all explanations are understandable.
Cares for patients throughout the following phases of care : triage, labor, delivery, recovery, circulate and cesarean sections, postpartum and well newborn care.
Attends deliveries when appropriate. Implements stabilization process according to NRP guidelines.
Responds effectively and professionally in a crisis situation.
Provides resources to assist patients and families with post-discharge needs.
Scheduled Hours : 30 hrs / wk. weekend and holiday rotations.
Work Shift : Days - 7p-7a twice one week, three times the next
Education Required : Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications Required
State of Massachusetts RN licensure (or eligibility)
BLS Certification
NRP
Experience : 2 years of LDRP experience strongly preferred
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications Preferred : BSN
