Overview

IT Support Specialist is a part-time role that provides technical support to our production and office staff to quickly resolve technical issues, handle software upgrades, and other technical support functions as needed. The role responds to help desk tickets in a timely, efficient, and thorough manner while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Install and configure software and computer systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware.
• Provide assistance to internal clients through steps to help them resolve their technical problems. Maintain procedures and reports that provide technical support to the entire organization.
• Log help desk ticket requests and document resolutions for tracking purposes.
• Provide recommendations for hardware / software improvements to improve efficiencies and reduce downtime.
• Provide technical support to the Gate City and Market Street locations as needed.
• Support end users in utilizing new equipment successfully and assist in providing training support.

IOB employs more than 250 people, including 140+ who are blind, and supports its non-profit operations with its products and services. IOB manufactures textiles, assembles office supplies and janitorial products, and provides 3rd party distribution services. Customers include the US government, the military, and commercial businesses.
