Description
The Department of Languages at Clemson University seeks qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Lecturer in Spanish with a beginning date of August 15, 2026 . This is a full-time, nine-month, annually renewable position teaching primarily elementary and intermediate Spanish.
The primary responsibility of the position is to teach a 4 / 4 load, with some expectation of service to the department. The nine-month salary falls within market range and includes a benefits package. Additionally, there are summer teaching opportunities.
The Department of Languages is dedicated to the study of nine languages and their diverse cultures and literatures. In Spanish, we offer two BA degrees (in Modern Languages and Language & International Business), a BS degree in Language & International Health, and a double major with Education. The College of Arts and Humanities at Clemson has recently declared the study of pre-Law as one of its pillars : candidates with an interest in Spanish for Legal Purposes are also encouraged to apply, though this is not required. The Department is known for our outstanding teaching and dedication to the campus community.

Qualifications
A strong background in teaching undergraduates is required. The successful candidate must hold a minimum of a master's degree in a relevant field at time of appointment; those with more advanced degrees are also welcome to apply.
