Position Summary : The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital clinical practitioner who expertly coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the specific age groups within the assigned units. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe care, aligning with the unit's established standards. As a committed team member, the RN embodies the mission, philosophy, and goals of both the unit and the organization, demonstrating effectiveness in clinical practices and fostering respectful interactions with colleagues, physicians, patients, and families.\n\nRequirements\n\nMinimum Qualifications : \n\nEducation : Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.\n\nCertifications / Licenses : Must possess a current RN license in New Mexico or a current Compact state license. BLS Certification is required within two weeks of the hire date, with all other required certifications needed within six months of hire. If certifications are held at the time of hire, they must be maintained without a grace period for renewal.\n\nSkills : \n

  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate for the age / type of patient population served.\n
  • Awareness and sensitivity to patients' rights in care delivery.\n
  • Clear, concise communication skills suitable for the developmental age of the patient.\n\nExperience : \n\nNature of Supervision : Reports to the Patient Care Director or Manager.\n\nEnvironment : \n
  • Exposure to Bloodborne pathogens (C in OR, PACU, L & D; B in other patient care areas).\n
  • Experience with infectious diseases and x-rays.\n\nWork is performed in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated smoke-free environment. Nurses may face stressful professional relationships, and working hours can vary with flexibility required for unexpected schedule changes and emergencies.\n\nPhysical Requirements : Ability to manage emergency situations, requiring prolonged standing and walking. Heavy physical effort is necessary for positioning, pushing, and transferring patients or supplies. Regularly involves reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Accurate judgment of distance and space is essential, along with the ability to see peripherally, distinguish colors, and maintain normal or correctable hearing and vision acuity. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination are needed for effective patient care.
