General Job Description

Weigel Productions is seeking a Producer to manage all creative and production aspects of an episode for a national, one-hour, daily, nostalgic-themed, morning television program featuring beloved cartoons. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with strong leadership and organizational skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multitask. Effective communication across multiple locations is essential.

Job Duties

  • Drive creative vision for an episode and oversee the episode from start through post-production
  • Generate, pitch, and develop creative content
  • Write show scripts
  • Book topical guests, conduct pre-interviews, brief guests on show days
  • Determine visual elements and props for episodes
  • Coordinate logistics and clearly communicate creative needs with other departments including crew, graphics, post-production and art requests
  • Brief hosts and production team
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of television producing experience
  • Ability to work with on-air talent, production teams, sponsors, and animals
  • Highly organized with strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Proficiency in MS Office; iNews, GV Stratus, and Adobe C-Suite experience a plus

    Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate for this role is $60,000-70,000 annually, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. This role is eligible for benefits described above in accordance with plan documents. Benefits for union-represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
