Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Dept position requiring Illinois RN licensure and EPIC charting experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in an Emergency Department within a hospital setting
  • Level 1 trauma patient population
  • Night shifts from 7 : 00PM to 7 : 30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Includes two 13-hour on-call shifts per 6-week schedule with one-hour onsite response required
  • Uses EPIC for charting, previous experience with EPIC required
  • Responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions in the Emergency Department
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation to support care integration
  • Collaborates with providers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Assumes responsibility for patient and staff safety, including reporting and correcting hazards
  • Promotes professional development through peer feedback and knowledge sharing
  • Holiday coverage may be required based on department needs
  • No travel partners accepted for this assignment
  • Requested time off may not exceed 7 days during the 13-week contract
  • Travel assignments at this location are limited to one calendar year, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active Illinois RN license or temporary license accepted
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum one year of relevant emergency nursing experience
  • Documented Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • EPIC charting experience is mandatory
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
