R&D Mechanical Engineer (Medical Device) About the Role

The client’s company is seeking a Staff-level Mechanical Engineer to lead design and development for complex electromechanical capital equipment in a highly technical R&D environment. This role is ideal for experienced engineers who thrive on solving tough mechanical design challenges, driving product innovation, and leading small cross-functional teams.

R&D Mechanical Engineer (Medical Device) Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of components, mechanisms, and systems for new or existing capital equipment.
  • Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to develop, test, and refine high-performance solutions.
  • Collaborate across R&D, electrical, and manufacturing functions to ensure design intent and system integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership throughout design phases.
  • Execute testing, validation, and documentation to support development milestones and regulatory requirements.

R&D Mechanical Engineer (Medical Device) Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME or MSME).
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing electromechanical or capital equipment systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a small engineering team and ensure alignment on project objectives.
