Your Opportunity

Our team of structural engineers works collaboratively with other design professionals across all Stantec's buildings business sectors. The Structural BIM Lead will work alongside our Structural Engineers and lead our BIM technicians in delivering for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Acts as liaison for BIM related subject matter both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with the Structural Engineers to resource and staff projects.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop standards and process improvements.
- Lead the setup, maintenance, and development of project models.
- Work with project managers and technical design staff to prepare drawing documentation.
- Develop families and other electronic template materials following corporate guidelines.
- Review projects for adherence to firm standards.
- Evaluate and recommend BIM related software.
- Create end user training and support materials.
- Oversee and lead the development of BIM Execution Plans for projects.
- Communicate corporate initiatives and standards to the BC team.
- Create electronic data files in compliance with Stantec and client requirements.
- Convert markups to document-ready work.
- Publish, post, and manage drawing sets; maintain drawing revisions.
- Assist other staff with Revit issues and mentor staff in Design Technology systems across multiple office locations.
- Provide insight and recommendations to increase efficiency and value of BIM production.
- Identify and participate in training opportunities to increase technical and project knowledge.
- Attend in-house project meetings and external meetings; actively participate in initiatives and projects supporting group and firm-wide goals.
Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of recent versions of Revit and its application in the built environment.Strong working knowledge of Building Information Modeling.Familiarity with Computer Aided Design tools (Autodesk AutoCAD).Relevant certifications for the position.Revit family creation and maintenance.Client-centric, can-do approach to project work and assignments.Familiarity with design methods supporting the buildings architectural / engineering field.High initiative with ability to synthesize new technologies, industry trends, and client needs to drive efficiency and value.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Clash detection proficiency in Revit; Navisworks experience preferred.Education And Experience
Certificate from technical college; advanced degree in a related field preferred.Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with Revit, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in the architectural / engineering / contractor industry.Familiarity with structural design in the buildings sector.Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit required; Navisworks, Rhino preferred).Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite).Work Environment & Benefits
