Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist reports to the Controller and plays a critical role in running payroll for nearly 200 employees across Southwest Florida. The Payroll Specialist should be proficient with the technology of Paylocity or similar payroll software systems. Individuals should thrive in fast-paced work environments, act with a high sense of urgency, integrity, successfully juggle multiple tasks, and have a strong attention to detail by ensuring information is accurate, compliant, and well managed.
Here are a few ways the HR & Payroll Administrator impacts the employee experience :
- Manages the weekly payroll processing for three companies in compliance with company policies, and state and federal guidelines through the third-party provider Paylocity
- Ensures that Payroll and HR-related systems including but not limited to Paylocity, Employee Navigator, Benefit, and Retirement are up-to-date and compliant
- Manages the termination process for employees, including benefit enrollments and termination letter preparation
- Handles the unemployment claims, employment verifications, insurance claim processing and maintains Risk Management Center data
- Soundly understands all company offerings including but not limited to benefit programs, retirement, PTO, policies, and procedures
- Reviews and reconciles monthly invoices and feels comfortable collaborating with vendors
- Leads various HR projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of HR
- Seeks to learn all facets of Human Resources including but not limited to; payroll, HR Technology, benefits, compensation, vendor management, employment law, employee relations, and compliance
- Acts with the highest level of integrity and professionalism
- Demonstrates the ability and desire to take on more responsibility and grow in the HR or Payroll Profession
