Job Description : Arc Flash - Professional Electrical Engineer (PE)

MEI has a job opportunity for an experienced Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) with strong expertise in Arc Flash and Protective Device Coordination Studies to be an integral member of our design team. The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings.

Job Duties :

• Responsible for designing electrical systems and performing detailed design calculations, with a focus on power system analysis.
• Lead and perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination using industry-standard software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
• Review, signing, and sealing of projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct site visits for data collection, validation of as-built conditions, and client coordination related to Arc Flash labeling and electrical safety compliance.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders; prepare record drawings; participate in inspections and commissioning work.
• Write and edit specifications for electrical equipment and systems, including overcurrent protective devices, switchgear, and transformers.
• Ensure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines, and on budget.
• Assist in developing internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables.
