Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a trusted resource for all employees with the goal of developing a world-class manufacturing culture focused on trust, respect, safety, customer satisfaction, and inclusion. This individual will provide support to the Human Resources function by assisting in a range of services to all employees including but not limited to production recruitment efforts, onboarding, career fairs, policy support, and general day to day outreach to our internal / external customers. The ability to build and sustain partnerships with employees and leadership will be critical for success. This role is onsite in our Allen TX facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted partner to employees, supervisors / managers for human resources administration and day-to-day activities.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and function as a champion of employee engagement initiatives.
- Works with the HR team on various employee-related issues, including managing the employment lifecycle, new hire orientation, Talent Acquisition, and employee engagement.
- Partner with the HR COEs to successfully ensure strong collaboration and solution focused.
- Support full life cycle recruitment for all Production opportunities, temporary or direct hire.
- Build applicant pools by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, other recruiters, social media, and internet sites.
- Represent Nordson Medical Surgical Solutions by attending appropriate career fairs and outreach within the community.
- Partner with external recruiting agencies to fill roles quickly and efficiently align with our internal guidelines.
- Working with managers to develop and maintains current job descriptions.
- Contribute to HR projects such as diversity and inclusion initiatives, or organizational development efforts in partnership with HR Sr. Manager.
- Utilize a thoughtful and consistent approach to drive performance management initiatives.
- Facilitate all on-boarding activities including new hire orientation, I-9 process, and general documentation.
- Maintain open, clear, and precise communication with functional partners.
- Assist in gathering and preparing employment data for reporting requirements and analysis.
- Assist in planning and coordination of company events, initiatives, programs, and special projects.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration or human resources or 35 years in similar HR roles.2-3 years of experience in an onsite HR position supporting production employees preferred.Proficiency with Workday is highly preferred.Previous experience working with an Applicant Tracking System preferred.Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment with 75+ employees is preferred.Skills & Abilities
Strong customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, and relationship building abilities needed.Comfortability handling highly confidential information.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Ability to deliver high-level customer service, displaying a positive company image and a positive attitude.Critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to appropriately manage confidential, sensitive information are required.Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.Ability to develop an understanding and practice of Nordson values and competencies.Self-management, work with limited supervision, taking the initiative to stay current with company and government.Committed to supporting an equitable and inclusive culture.Working Conditions & Physical Demands
