  • What are the duties and responsibilities?

    Classroom Management :

  • Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the absent teacher.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Instructional Delivery :

  • Deliver lessons in accordance with the established curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Student Engagement :

  • Foster student engagement and participation in classroom activities.
  • Encourage a positive and respectful atmosphere for effective learning.
  • Supervision :

  • Supervise students during class time, transitions, and other school-related activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Communication :

  • Communicate effectively with students, school staff, and administrators.
  • Provide feedback on the day's activities and report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or school administration.
  • Follow Policies and Procedures :

  • Adhere to school and district policies and procedures.
  • Implement emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Professionalism :

  • Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Uphold high standards of behavior and ethics.
  • Flexibility :

  • Be flexible and adaptable to different grade levels, subjects, and school environments.
  • Follow the guidance provided by the regular teacher and school administrators.
  • Classroom Materials :

  • Utilize classroom materials and technology as specified in lesson plans.
  • Leave the classroom in an organized state for the returning teacher.
  • What are the required qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree is minimum requirement.
  • Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including : mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and adapt to different classroom settings.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the school's policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching assignments.
  • Completed background check and clearance.
  • Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
