Responsibilities
Review, establish, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications to ensure code compliance, customer specifications are met, and for optimization of designs linked to required code, contract requirements, and manufacturability.Organize, facilitate and lead ASME and other code compliance audits. Work with the Quality team to ensure quality systems are compliant with the ASME code and ISO 9001-2015.Prevent compliance issues by collaborating with sales, engineering and design teams SESG-wide. May require review of customer specifications for RFQ support and preparation of proposal documents.Provide consultations with SESG Engineering Departments on advanced engineering calculations, code specification clarity, and auditing of engineering outputs with a focus on high-profile designs.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.Participate in planning and execution of systems migrations, integrations, and updates.Analyze and input to project teams on compliance with global standards (e.g., CRN Canada, PED Europe) and other applicable standards.Manage approval processes for CRN (Canada), PED (Europe) and other required codes.Aid in researching new markets by determining ability to meet requirements and obtaining required approvals and certifications.Monitor changes in standards and engineering changes to maintain product lifecycle compliance.Support on-site assessments and respond to questions from third parties, regulatory agencies, and customers as required.Collaborate with manufacturing to improve processes and contribute to development of operational processes, procedures, best practices, and methods.Interact with internal and external users / customers to provide technical support.Work with Quality, Engineering, and Customer Care to facilitate field service and ensure site work is code compliant and meets customer expectations.Lead pre-manufacturing meetings for new products or highly complex orders and support operations to ensure product is built to code.Contribute to ensuring technical capabilities of operations are appropriately scoped, implemented, maintained, and compliant.Uphold and participate in quality and EHS programs; perform other duties as assigned.Engage in continuous improvement and resolve customer satisfaction issues.This job description is not all-inclusive; employees may perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Discipline and 4+ years' relevant experience or associate's degree and 7+ years relevant experience.Qualifications
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.Understanding and support of company policies and procedures.Ability to understand and abide by safety rules and regulations.Basic computer literacy.Reading, writing and basic math skills; ability to read blueprints.Good communication skills.Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) and Professional Engineer designation preferred.Member of American Welding Society.Pressure vessel and / or steel manufacturing experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication, project management, and analytical skills.Previous work in related industry is an asset; on-the-job training will be provided.Samuel, Son & Co.
