Overview
Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 3571) at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and helps develop a sales culture by providing outstanding guest service experiences and sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests.

Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests promptly; respond to questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / returns accurately using POS; handle cash changes, receipts, and ensure high-quality guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed.
- Promote GameStop's guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards loyalty).
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening / closing shifts; ensure understanding of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
- Schedule store staff to follow guidelines, manage breaks / meals, and maintain optimal guest service levels.
- Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked.
- Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
- Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform required administrative duties.
- Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products on the sales floor.
- Balance and reconcile daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits according to guidelines.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to the Store / District Manager.
- Process defective / recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines.
- Maintain neat, organized store records / files and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and to the opening / closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business / marketing / merchandising or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred; at least 2 years of retail sales / guest service and / or management experience preferred; video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills and Abilities
