Budget Analyst
The City of Alameda is seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious individual to join the City's Finance department's Budget team. As a member of the Finance Department you will act as a much needed support as well as a resource for employees and staff. This position is part time. The hours can vary depending on need but will not exceed 28 hours per week, over 4 days (Monday through Thursday).
This part-time role will be supporting the work of the City of Alameda's Budget Team. We are looking for someone with the following qualities :
Analytical and employs strong reasoning You will demonstrate proficiency in data analysis and the ability to work with financial data to achieve specific outcomes.
An effective communicator You will possess strong written and oral communication skills to effectively convey financial information to Alameda staff.
Organized and results-driven You will demonstrate the ability to balance multiple assignments and execute detailed projects in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
Comfortable with learning new software and data entry protocols You will demonstrate the capacity to learn new software systems and the ability to follow data entry protocols.
Relevant background You have experience working in public administration, financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, and / or accounting. Prior experience in municipal budget work is a plus. If it applies, please indicate what municipality you did budget work.
