Technology Support Specialist II

Location : Edinburg, Texas – University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, 1201 W. University Drive, Edinburg, TX 78539.

Department : Infrastructure & Operations – Full-time (FTE 1.0, Non-Exempt).

Responsibilities

• Consult with users on computer use and resolve complex and advanced problems.
• Provide routine and advanced software and hardware support services to all departments.
• Install, maintain, repair, and support computer hardware and software.
• Analyze, develop, and test systems and procedures.
• Perform service calls on-site or by telephone.
• Prepare training literature and materials; conduct staff or classroom training.
• Research, review, and recommend computer products, services, and trends.
• Provide staff assistance to the assigned supervisor and prepare reports.
• Install, maintain, and support computer networks.
• Keep up-to-date on new and developing technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Working Conditions

Indoor office environment; must be able to move between buildings, stoop, bend, reach, climb ladders and stairs to install and maintain equipment and cables.
