The Welder operates at the highest quality, safety, and performance standards within the Flat Welding department. This position is also sets the best example for others within the department.
Job Requirements
- Maintain production schedule
- The ability to weld Black, Galvanized, Stainless Steel and Aluminum at the highest quality.
- The ability to MIG weld meeting all quality and quantity standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance PM’s that are the operator’s responsibility
- Complete all production and quality documentation
- Assist in all other departments as required and train people on all shifts.
- Maintain a high quality of weld appearance
- Maintain a high production rate within the skill level
- Make quality checks to insure materials, parts and workmanship are compliant with engineering requirements and productions expectations
- Able to weld aluminum, frames / bearing supports and / or operate a spinner
- Demonstrate superior service skill(s) and professionalism in day-to-day dealings with coworkers, setting a good example in attendance and work ethics.

- Continually demonstrate good attendance practices, minimizing unplanned absences
- Insures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as insuring a safe work environment is maintained

- Able to understand and follow all MAP’s, PAP’s, CRN, B31.5, ASME, TMI’s, TPI’s, and SOP’s that pertain to the product
- Able to complete all documents pertaining to the process
- Safe operation of all overhead lifting cranes and jib booms
- Able to determine good weld quality during the welding process and make correction as needed
- Assist in other areas of the shop when needed
- Able to be recertified as needed (Structural Certifications)
- Mentor lessor experienced welders

Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1 / 32”Familiar with and understand proper use of basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers)Familiar with and understand proper use of power tools (screw guns, caulk guns, reciprocating saw, jigsaw, drills)Must be able to use overhead craneMust have a valid driver’s licenseBasic shop math (i.e. add / subtract / divide / multiply, whole numbers and fractions)Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings0-2 years’ experiencePhysical requirements
