Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Med / Surg Tele unit specializing in oncology care Care for adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers Unit provides chemotherapy, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) Patient ratios generally 1 : 4, with potential for 1 : 5 based on unit needs Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring with interpretation of dysrhythmias and rapid response 12-hour night shifts with day / night rotating option available depending on department needs Self-scheduling requests are accommodated, subject to unit requirements Weekends are variable based on unit needs EMR system used is Epic and prior experience is required Initial orientation consists of daytime shifts followed by on-unit preceptorship Primary responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, participating in clinical trials, performing specialized oncology procedures, and implementing infection prevention protocols Role involves feeding tube care, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance Work closely with interdisciplinary teams and participate in rapid response situations First week orientation is Monday to Friday on day shift, followed by on-unit precepted shifts All time off requests must be submitted up front and built into the contract Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers Scrub color and dress code details will be provided during onboarding Requirements Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele nursing experience Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Proficiency with telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation Experience administering chemotherapy and performing oncology procedures such as brachytherapy Experience with Epic EMR required At least 2 professional references required, including 1 from a supervisor or formal leader Former employees eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees not eligible Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after contract acceptance Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623471.
