The San Jose State University Police Department (UPD) is dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. UPD partners closely with the campus community to enhance public safety and community engagement through education, prevention, and proactive patrol.

About the Role :
The Housing Community Service Officer supports the safety and wellbeing of students, guests, and staff across San Jose State University's residence halls and apartment communities. This position works collaboratively with University Housing Services and the University Police Department to provide patrol coverage, respond to calls for service, and ensure a safe and secure living environment for approximately 4,200 residents. This position includes nights and weekends on a rotating schedule.
Work Schedule : HCSOs work three 12-hour shifts each week plus a 4-hour shift every other Wednesday. Both day and night shifts are available.
Day Shift : Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, 7 : 00 a.m.-7 : 00 p.m.

CSU Salary Range : $3,461 / month - $5,043 / month
