• And much more\n\nPosition Summary\n\nThe Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Spring View Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 7-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support.\n\nThe RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.\n
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.\n
• Documents patient care given.\n
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.\n
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.\n
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual / psychosocial support needs.\n
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and / or family and provides patient / family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.\n
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.\n
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.\n
• Able to manage ventilators, cpap / bipap, vapotherms.\n
• Able to titrate and maintain critical drips on the ICU patient, including knowledge of indications, contraindications, and side effects.\n

• Associate's degree required\n
• Bachelor's degree preferred\n
• 1-2 years of clinical experience is strongly preferred\n\nCertifications : \n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire\n
• ACLS is required within 1 year of hire\n
• PALS is required within 1 year of hire\n
• Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually\n\nLicense : \n
