The position is teaching-focused and intended to support instruction in undergraduate STEM and pre-health curricula. The Department of Chemistry at Hofstra University (www.hofstra.edu) invites applications for a Two-Year (Renewable) Full-Time Non-Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor position beginning September 1, 2026. This teaching-focused position supports instruction in undergraduate STEM and pre-health curricula. The term “clinical” refers to a full-time teaching appointment and does not denote a subdiscipline of chemistry. Applicants from all areas of chemistry and related fields with a strong interest in undergraduate teaching and pedagogy are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will primarily teach in the general chemistry sequence (lecture and lab), with opportunities to teach other courses aligned with their expertise. The department values inclusive, student-centered teaching and supports faculty development via the Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, and Assessment. All courses are undergraduate-only, with small class sizes in upper-level courses (typically 10-20 students). The teaching load typically alternates between two courses in one semester and three in the other. The department offers ACS-accredited degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry, as well as a degree in Forensic Science.
