Overview Downers Grove Youth Baseball is looking for a Social Media Manager to enhance our online presence and engage with our community. This role is perfect for someone passionate about youth sports, digital marketing, and storytelling. The ideal candidate will create and manage social media content, attend some games for photos and updates, and help grow our audience.
Responsibilities Manage and update the league’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
Create engaging posts, including game highlights, player spotlights, and league announcements.
Attend select games to capture photos and videos for social media content.
Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent posting.
Interact with followers, respond to comments / messages, and promote community engagement.
Ensure posts align with the league’s values and maintain a family-friendly tone.
Work with league officials to promote sponsors, special events, and fundraising efforts.
Qualifications Must have reliable technology (laptop, smartphone, camera, etc.) and internet access to manage content remotely.
Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, or similar).
Basic photography and videography skills.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Ability to attend some games for in-person content gathering (local travel required).
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Experience in social media management, marketing, or a related field is a plus but not required.
Flexible scheduling – work remotely and attend games based on availability.
