Executive Director Grants Development & Compliance

Kennedy-King College seeks an Executive Director Grants Development and Compliance.
Primary Objective
Reporting to a college President the Executive Director, Grants Development and Compliance leads the colleges grant planning and development process, identifying funding sources and grant opportunities; developing and writing grant proposals; and coordinating with the districts Office of Institutional Advancement to submit completed proposal / application on behalf of the college. The Executive Director, Grants Development and Compliance also directs and manages the work of Directors-Grants Administrations and other staff accountable for the implementation and management of grants including the reporting and close-out of grants in compliance with grant funding agencies and CCC policies. Performs related duties as required.
Essential Duties
- Works collaboratively with college administrators, faculty, and staff in managing the life cycle of grants, including pre-award, post-award, and grants management.
- Guides and provides expertise to college administrators, faculty, and staff to support their grant writing work; provides institutional knowledge of the college to assist grant writing team in completing applications.
- Oversees the colleges grant writing and preparation work to ensure the submission of timely and competitive grant applications to the districts Office of Institutional Advancement for approval and submission to funders.
- Directs the work of Directors Grants Administration and staff engaged in managing the post-award phase of the grants' lifecycle, developing, and implementing work plans to execute the activities and expend the funds of the grant in accordance with the terms and conditions of the grant award.
- Monitors and provides guidance on establishing processes to track the progress of grants program achievements, submit required programmatic and fiscal reports, and meet other requirements in compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements.
- Researches federal and state grant opportunities. Conducts prospect research of private foundations and corporations to identify opportunities for private sector funding of colleges health sciences programs.
- Writes grants / proposals and completes grant applications in close collaboration with college administrators, faculty, and staff.
- Utilizes technology (systems and databases) to monitor grants compliance reporting and performance, including progress towards achieving objectives. Identifies expiring grants and deadlines and work with appropriate staff to determine eligibility for extensions or modifications.
- Conducts workshops and advises college administrators and faculty on the grant writing, preparation, and submission process.
- Provides regular written updates and communications (i.e., newsletters) to private donors.
- Arranges and schedules tours of college facilities given by senior leaders with corporate donors, foundation officers and other private sector donors.
- Assists with development and fundraising projects as requested.
Qualifications
A Master's degree from an accredited college or universityA minimum of seven years of program, grant or project administration work experience required.Experience in securing and managing grants from federal, non-profit, and private foundations highly desirable.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of management.Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing projects in a complex organization.Experience working in a large, urban community college setting or an institution of higher education highly desirable.Robust understanding of federal grant rules and accounting proceduresExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsStrong leadership skillsExcellent organizational and project management skillsAbility to work within a culturally diverse environment.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)Salary Range : $104,757 - $115,000
