Recruiting Coordinator at Asset Based Lending (ABL)

Asset Based Lending, LLC is a prominent hard money lender specializing in commercial real estate. Based in New Jersey and established in 2010, ABL provides fast bridge financing for real estate investors and has closed thousands of loans, totaling nearly $3B in originations. ABL was acquired by a private equity firm in 2021 and is focused on growth and delivering exceptional service.

ABL is seeking an experienced Paralegal with 5+ years of experience in commercial loan closings to support our General Counsel. This role focuses on managing and closing commercial real estate loans and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has strong experience in commercial loan closings, title work, corporate entity review, and the ability to learn and implement new information to facilitate smooth operations.

Responsibilities

Commercial Loan Expertise : Draft, review, assemble, and deliver legal documents related to real estate transactions (promissory notes, mortgages, deeds of trust, loan agreements, and other critical documents) with accuracy and completeness.

Closing Process : Coordinate commercial mortgage closings and ensure title clearance and regulatory compliance.

Compliance : Work with the General Counsel to perform due diligence and ensure compliance with applicable mortgage lending laws and regulations (e.g., Regulation B, Dodd-Frank Act, HMDA).

Loan File Management : Maintain and update loan files to meet regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Communication : Collaborate with clients, lenders, title companies, and other stakeholders to facilitate a seamless closing process.

Legal Support : Provide comprehensive legal support to the General Counsel and assist with loan documentation for Master Agreements with warehouse lenders and loan buyers, focusing on commercial lending.

Compliance Reporting : Assist in compliance management by monitoring policies and reporting requirements related to HMDA, Regulation B, and other regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

Experience : 5+ years of paralegal experience with a strong background in commercial real estate lending and commercial loan closings.

Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of loan policy title review, surveys, closing documents, and closing procedures.

Detail-Oriented : Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for complex legal documentation.

Communication : Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

Independence : Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Team Player : Collaborative mindset with accountability, teamwork, and ownership mentality.

Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Technology : Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with mortgage industry software; willingness to adapt to new technologies.
