MANAGER – PRODUCTION (FALCON)
SpaceX is currently seeking a talented individual for a manager position overseeing Falcon Structures. This role will oversee 6+ supervisors and 65+ technicians across a variety of skill sets. You will be involved in all aspects of Production including strategic rate planning, facilities upgrades, capital projects, staffing, and leadership development to ensure your team's success and growth. Additionally, you will work closely with engineering teams to continuously improve area capability and design for manufacturability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage operations and personnel for Vertical Barrel Integration, Transfer Tube Production, and Aft Structures
- Develop Supervisors and Technicians through standardized training, personal growth plans, and focused goals
- Continuously improve area safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through large scope initiatives
- Network with managers of other production areas, engineering groups, and support groups to foster a collaborative and productive working environment
- Communicate performance of the area through data analysis and presentation of key metrics
- Work with upper management to align the goals and output of COPV areas with the company direction
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following industries : engineering, manufacturing / production operations, supply chain management, or military operations1+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or production role with direct reportsPREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
4+ years of experience working in an aerospace or high-critical manufacturing environment2+ years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports1+ year of experience working with structures and / or propulsion processesBachelor's degree in a technical disciplineExperience in guiding teams through new product stabilizationExperience with lean manufacturing principlesExperience using SQL to navigate large datasets to create and monitor key performance metricsExperience identifying and analyzing production process improvements for rate and qualityExperience working with large-scale manufacturing machinesExperience working with controls systems or programmingAble to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization, including production technicians, engineering, and the Executive levelAble to adapt to constantly changing work assignments and fast-paced work environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as neededMust be able to travel to other SpaceX sites; up to 10% travelAbility to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and VandenbergITAR and export compliance as required for U.S. government regulationsCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Pay range :
Manager : $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is part of SpaceX's total rewards package, which may include long-term incentives (stock, stock options, or cash awards), discretionary bonuses, a 401(k) plan, health / dental / vision, disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, paid vacation and holidays, and other employee discounts and perks.
