Job Description

The Safety and Quality Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols and quality assurance systems within a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all products meet quality standards and that employees work in a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace. The role supports continuous improvement efforts and regulatory compliance throughout the plant.

Roles / Responsibilities :

Safety

  • Develop and enforce health and safety programs in accordance with OSHA and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment, tools, and workstations.
  • Lead accident and near-miss investigations; maintain incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training and toolbox talks to manufacturing personnel.
  • Monitor compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
  • Maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and hazardous materials documentation.

Quality

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Conduct in-process and final product inspections using various measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Monitor production lines for adherence to quality standards and document non-conformances.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective / preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation preparation.
  • Train production staff in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality practices
  • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a safety and / or quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, lean manufacturing principles, and ISO / IATF standards.
  • Strong proficiency in quality inspection tools, methods, and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality / safety management software.
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of manufacturing / production product operational process.
