We do not simply vaccinate, sterilize and rehome- we cater to each dog or cat's individual needs and ensure all aspects of their health and well being are tended to. • You will have access to :
• Full in-house laboratory as well as use of Idexx referral and Cornell Diagnostic and University of Minnesota Diagnostic laboratories
• Collaboration with veterinary behaviorists for tough behavior issues
• Optional referrals (upon approval) to nearby specialists (Associated Emergency and Referral Center, The University Of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine as well as local rehab and acupuncture facilities)
• Working for highly rated non-profit rescue organization provides incomparable emotional rewards :
• Providing life saving and life changing care for dogs / cats who have been abandoned, abused and neglected.
• Watching the transformation of those sickly, scared and damaged animals into healthy, happy pets.
• Working with an extremely passionate group of people who have dedicated their lives to the mission of rescue, rehab and rehoming
• Participation in fundraising and adoption events where you can see the passion of all the supporters and the community.
• Qualification :
• Shelter / HVHQSN experience preferred but not required.
• Ideal candidate would have at least 5 years clinical experience, however, we are willing to make an exception for the right fit.
• Must have excellent surgical technique
• Must be able to multitask well
• Must be able to communicate clearly and in a timely fashion with both veterinary and non-veterinary colleagues
• Must be willing to oversee a team of 3-4 vet techs and ensure quality of care and maintain facility / equipment care
• Must be willing to share on call duties which may include coming in after hours for emergencies
• Must attend monthly staff meetings
• Must be able to work in a fast paced setting with the unpredictable being the norm
• Must have excellent written communication skills as email is the main mode of communication within the organization.
• Compensation Package :
• $130,000 salary annually
• $500 / mo ($6000 / yr) medical stipend
• 100 Hours of PTO
• Working for a non-profit organization provides an opportunity to earn student loan forgiveness status
• 401 K up to 3% match / $3900
• Scrubs provided (estimated $200 annually)
• CE allowance up to $5000 annually ( Director approval required)
• Personal pet care - estimated $2000 / yr
• Lisence fees
• Total compensation package = $147,300 annually
