Kōkūn (pronounced like “cocoon”) is a mission-driven nonprofit transforming how invisible medical conditions (starting with migraine) are seen, understood, and healed.

Despite affecting millions, conditions like migraine, IBS, and PCOS remain under-researched and poorly supported. We’re closing that gap by partnering directly with patients and researchers to uncover insights at scale.

At the core of our work is an AI-powered platform that delivers personalized, evidence-based support, connecting people to the answers, resources, and community they need today, while generating the data and research breakthroughs we need for tomorrow.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Social Media Manager (Volunteer) to bring Kōkūn’s mission and story to life on social media through creative, resourceful, and budget-conscious strategies. You’ll lead our efforts to shape Kōkūn’s voice across social platforms, grow meaningful engagement with our community, and design campaigns that raise awareness and challenge stigma around invisible conditions.

What You’ll Do

• As the lead of our social channels, you will own the strategy and execution of our social presence.
• Develop campaigns that elevate awareness, challenge stigma, and bring invisible conditions into public conversation
• Shape a consistent and compelling digital voice that resonates with patients, researchers, and partners
• Create content (graphics, short-form video, thought leadership posts, etc.) that resonates with our audiences
• Monitor trends, analytics, and audience feedback to refine strategy and maximize impact
• Find creative, low-cost, and organic ways to grow our reach and impact
• Build and nurture an engaged online community, ensuring safe and inclusive spaces for dialogue
