QA Technician - 1st Shift

This position requires a self-driven, well organized Quality Assurance Technician who can exercise decision making skills and time management with little supervision during 1st shift. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. This position supports the company's production facility with the responsibilities that are included below. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Inspect, verify, sample, weigh and test product for defects
• Receive in and release raw materials
• Send out samples for testing and release finished product
• Discard or reject product not meeting specifications
• Observe and monitor production operations to ensure conformance and adjust if necessary
• Work with the plant to comply with customer requirements and maintain high industry standards
• Complete allergen testing and paperwork to ensure compliance
• Monitor critical control points (CCP's) multiple times daily
• Support all required customer audits, safe quality food (SQF) audits, third party audits and internal audits
• Maintain pre-operation inspection procedures
• Responsible for daily and monthly audits performed inside and outside the building
• Label proofreading; paying special attention to detail
• Comply with GMP, personal hygiene, HACCP and other quality and employee safety programs
• Other duties as assigned by manager
