Employment Defense Attorney - Charleston, SC

We are seeking an Employment Defense Attorney with at least 3 years of civil litigation experience to join our Charleston office. Clawson & Staubes has been a trusted leader in the litigation community since 1975, known for delivering prompt, bold, and innovative legal service throughout the Carolinas.

Position Overview

This position offers immediate hands-on responsibility in an employment law practice. The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload, with collaboration and support from experienced colleagues. It's an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to grow in a team-oriented environment while building autonomy and courtroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolution.
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide regular case updates.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Participate in investigations, motion practice, and trials.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
  • At least 3 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Employment law experience preferred.
  • Highly responsive and professional in communication with clients, colleagues, and others.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Organized and dependable with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
