Heavy Equipment Shop Foreman / Lead Technician

This is your opportunity to join the area's premier heavy construction equipment dealership as a Heavy Equipment Shop Foreman / Lead Technician .

In this role, you'll work closely with our Service Manager and Service Technicians to deliver superior customer service while maintaining a collaborative, safety-focused shop culture.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy construction equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, drills, portable aggregate / crushing plants, hydraulic breakers, and road wideners.

This is a Union Position with the Local 158 Union.

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay : Starting at $40 / hour (Depending on experience)
  • Hours : Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 AM–3 : 30 PM (overtime as needed)

    • Essential Duties

  • Manage and schedule shop technician workload in coordination with Service Management
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to shop technicians
  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment systems (motors, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, exhaust / aftertreatment)
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and repair schedules for customer equipment and our 150-piece rental fleet
  • Promote and maintain a safe, positive work environment

    • Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years as a Shop Foreman or equivalent supervisory experience
  • Minimum 10 years in mechanical, service technician, or diesel technology roles (5 years in heavy equipment repair required)
  • Experience with Link-Belt, Hitachi, Sandvik, and / or Anaconda equipment preferred
  • Hands-on experience rebuilding diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic pumps
  • Proven supervisory / leadership skills including scheduling and technician support
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to read / interpret hydraulic & electrical schematics
  • Proficiency with laptop diagnostic tools and computer programs
  • Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
  • Effective communicator across all levels (leadership, team, customers)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs; valid driver's license with clean record
  • Road or field technician experience a plus; some travel may be required
