VCA Allen Park Animal Hospital is expanding its Patient Care Team and seeking a Part-time or Full time Veterinary Assistant!

Schedule : Part-time opportunity, 20 - 25 hours. Full time opportunity - Shifts vary, rotating Saturdays, 30-38 hours.

About Us : VCA Allen Park is a thriving, 3-doctor AAHA-accredited practice located just south of Detroit. We provide comprehensive primary care, surgical, dental, and boarding services for dogs and cats, along with general care for small mammals.

Position Overview : Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries, as well as maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
• Restrain animals safely and humanely for procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Educate clients on general pet care and post-operative instructions.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all hospital areas
