Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer is responsible to assist the PM in the supervision of the bargaining unit workforce and other personnel, as well as the maintenance, repair, and operation of all equipment assigned to the specific work location. The Chief Engineer will assist to ensure that all systems are functioning efficiently and safely. They will also ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and licensing bodies.

Primary / Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :

• Project Management : Collaborate and work with the Project Manager to plan and execute maintenance and repair projects and provide Project Manager with institutional knowledge of facility.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project integration.
• Technical Oversight : Provide technical expertise and support to the engineering team.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Review and approve technical designs, plans, and specifications.
• Maintenance and Operations : Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
• Ensure the efficient operation of all engineering systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
• Resource Management : Allocate resources efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
• Negotiate with suppliers and contractors for services and equipment.
