American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact RN license and advanced certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a 43-bed Emergency Department with 8 Clinical Decision beds and additional holding / administrative bedsWork with diverse patient populations from pediatric to geriatric presenting with a variety of medical, behavioral, and trauma-related emergenciesPatient ratio is typically 1 RN to 3-4 patients, depending on acuityAverage daily census is 145 patients with a 25-30% admission rateUtilizes EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, Phillips monitors, Rover Communication, Panda Infant Warmer, and LUCAS deviceMust be willing to float within the specified regional facilities, including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, freestanding EDs, and central division hospitals as neededWork schedule may involve shifts across days, evenings, or nights with possible mid-shift floating to other facilitiesResponsibilities include providing emergency nursing care for patients of all ages with a variety of acute conditionsWork collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including HCT / unit secretaries, paramedics, charge nurses, pharmacists, social workers, RTs, and physiciansDepartment offers support with 24 / 7 intensivists, hospitalists, and respiratory therapistsFacility offers 2 days of departmental orientation in addition to unit onboardingNavy blue scrubs requiredParking is free for staffDepartment culture is described as welcoming, helpful, and busyFirst-time travelers are considered though travel experience is preferred\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact state RN license requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications are requiredTNCC certification is preferredMinimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience requiredGeneral ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK / TPA administration, and conscious sedationMust have experience with EPIC EMRPermanent address must be at least 50 miles from home unit facility\n Benefits\n
