Job Details :
Assist nurses in providing patient care through personal care, which will include personal hygiene assistance, assistance in preparing meals and feeding, and assistance in bathroom.
Assist in the collection of assessment data and accurately recording data on appropriate form in patients chart. The data may include vital signs, height and weight, blood glucose, and the collection of specimens.
Administers prescribed medications to patients and maintains related medical records under supervision of the RN in accordance of MBON standard.
Contribute to the development of the client plan of care based on the identified patient problems / needs.
Recognize and report promptly any deviations from patients normal assessment findings, behavior and physical status.
Provide patient care using appropriate infection control and safety precautions.
Use safety devices appropriately.
Accompany to doctor appointments and outings as indicated.
Assist patient to maintain an increase activity level.
Position patient in correct body alignment with use of appropriate devices,
Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as directed.
Attend mandatory in-service training and staff meetings as scheduled.
Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the clients care as evidenced by other department feedback.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and abilities :
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
At least one year of experience working with children
Effective organizational skills including the ability multitask, prioritize tasks, and communicate well with other staff
Must practice confidentiality and maintain a high standard of ethics
Work well with teams (staff, families, and clinical consultants)
Maintain a positive attitude and show enthusiasm at work every day.
Provide support in crisis situations, consistently implementing predetermined behavioral strategies.
Provide timely and accurate notification and documentation of incidents and plans.
Maintain accurate data and graphing on all designated programs
The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all patient and departmental documents is required.
The ability to read and interpret physician orders and other written methods of health care team is essential.
License and Certification :
Current Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
Current Maryland Certified Medication Technician (CMT) license required.
Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
Health / Medical Clearance
PPD / Chest X-Ray Results if Positive PPD results
Preferred Experience :
Experience working with individuals with Dual Diagnosis and
Experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities
