The Institutional Research Analyst gathers, manages, and analyzes a wide range of institutional data to inform decisions, support student success, and meet compliance and accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities include :
- Designing and running database queries to gather data for internal use and external reporting
- Using appropriate tools to clean, transform, filter, and compile data as needed
- Building informative dashboards and easy-to-digest reports that illuminate key trends and outcomes
- Employing data analytics to assess student retention, graduation, academic progress, and other key areas
- Collaborating with faculty and staff to understand their data needs and deliver customized reporting solutions
- Preparing and submitting structured data for compliance, accreditation, and other reporting needs
- Designing and administering surveys
Requirements include :
Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years' experience including research, data analysis, and information dissemination in an educational setting, OR Master's degree in Behavioral Research, Data Analytics, Statistics or related fieldKnowledge of research methods, survey design, and statistical analysisSkills in database or statistics programming (e.g. SAS, R, Stata and similar), measurement and research design, and communication about data / statistics with all levels of data literacyAbilities to synthesize and summarize data, communicate complex findings clearly and effectively, and translate raw data into actionable insightPreferred qualifications include experience with a large database system (Evisions Argos or similar), interactive dashboard design (Tableau, PowerBI, SAS Viya, etc.), and familiarity with SQL.
Working conditions include a sedentary work environment, with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent communication and listening, and operation of a computer and other office equipment.
