Role Description

We are seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated team in Hagerstown, MD. This is an on-site role with the potential to transition to full-time based on performance.

The ideal candidate is warm, organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy, with strong communication skills and a passion for helping others. You'll serve as the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in ensuring our front office runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage the check-in / check-out process
  • Verify insurance eligibility and review consent forms
  • Collect co-pays and other payments accurately
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
  • Answer and direct phone calls with professionalism and empathy
  • Maintain and update patient records
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Support general office operations as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience as a medical receptionist, front desk coordinator, or healthcare office assistant preferred
  • Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills
  • Excellent organization, multitasking, and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., AdvancedMD or similar) is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration or related field is beneficial
