Salary Range : Range 18 - $ 55,142.18 - $63,410.34 (Steps 1-4)

Position Summary :

The Academic Evaluator reports to the Associate Director for Academic Evaluation.  The Academic Evaluator is responsible for developing and implementing customer friendly procedures and processes that assist students in progressing towards graduation while maintaining the academic integrity of the institution.  Ability to initiate the use of functionality in Oracle / PeopleSoft (PAWS) as it relates to Academic Advising.  Ability to work in highly technical, customer friendly environment using the Oracle / PeopleSoft Advising Module and other web based advising tools expected.

Main Responsibilities :

• Review and evaluate undergraduate student credentials via the degree auditing process to insure that students have met all graduation requirements.
• Evaluate and award course units from external colleges or agencies that are in compliance with college policy.  This includes Advanced Placement, Advanced Standing credit, Transfer credit and other academic records.
• Meet with students on an individual basis and respond to student inquiries.
• Meet with transfer prospects during the admissions recruitment period.  This  could entail traveling to the community colleges with the admissions office to discuss the transferability of credits with prospects as well as transfer counselors.
• Update student academic records, in PAWS,  based on waivers and exceptions  received from the academic departments.
• Authorize course work to be taken at other institutions based on college policy.
• Support the registration process during the registration appointment period and during orientation.
• Other duties may be assigned.
