Moscow & Pullman Building Supply is currently looking for a full-time Fleet Mechanic to join our growing team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of company-owned fleet vehicles and rental equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring our trucks, trailers, and equipment remain safe, reliable, and compliant with company standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and scheduled service on company vehicles and rental equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in a wide variety of fleet vehicles, including pickup trucks, box trucks, tractor-trailers, forklifts, and heavy equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, mini excavators, and aerial lifts.
- Troubleshoot problems in systems such as fuel and ignition, electrical wiring, suspension, steering, transmissions, and hydraulics.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure all vehicles and equipment meet DOT, manufacturer, and company safety standards.
- Respond to emergency repair needs and perform roadside service when needed.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of service performed, hours worked on equipment, mileage, parts used, and any findings during inspections.
- Follow established procedures for work order completion, parts procurement, and billing documentation.
- Assist with ordering parts, managing inventory, and ensuring the shop is clean, organized, and stocked with the necessary tools and materials.
- Collaborate with Rental Manager to prioritize work and keep fleet and rental operations running smoothly.
- Stay informed on the latest technologies, equipment, and maintenance techniques.
- Operate equipment and vehicles safely and responsibly at all times.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screeningStrong understanding of mechanical systems, including gas, diesel, and propane engines.Experience diagnosing and repairing trucks, trailers, and construction or rental equipment.Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.Comfortable using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Must be dependable, punctual, and able to manage time efficiently.Preferred Qualifications
Formal mechanical training or certifications (ASE, vocational school, or technical college). Not required.CDL or ability to obtain one preferred but not required.Experience working with rental equipment or in a commercial fleet maintenance environment is a plus.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding job that involves standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds regularly.Work is performed both indoors in a shop setting and outdoors in all weather conditions.May be exposed to noise, grease, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.Must be comfortable working in hot, cold, and variable weather environments.Occasional overtime, weekend work, or on-call shifts may be required based on business needs.Why Work with Us?
