job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWrite and manage IEPs, including academic goals, accommodations, and services Conduct academic assessments and draft comprehensive reports Coordinate services with related providers (OT, SLP, etc.) Ensure all IEP documents are accurate, timely, and compliant Schedule and lead IEP meetings; send meeting notices and follow up on attendance Maintain regular communication with families, including monthly check-ins Liaise with general education teachers and service providers to track student progress Provide consultation and professional guidance on accommodations and modifications Maintain up-to-date service logs, contact logs, and student data Draft and submit Prior Written Notices, Assessment Plans, ITPs, and other required documents Track IEP timelines and ensure timely delivery of all services and reports Submit reports to families and collect all necessary signatures Bachelors degree (Required) Valid DC Special Education Teaching Certification (Required) Experience writing and managing IEPs Availability to teach in a self-contained math classroom Two or more years of teaching experience in a high-need, high-performing school Demonstrated impact on student growth and achievement Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills Familiarity with DC compliance timelines and special education procedures Compliance with DCs COVID-19 vaccine mandatory Work with a passionate team dedicated to student growth and success Be part of a values-driven culture focused on equity and inclusion Access ongoing professional development and support Make a lasting difference in the lives of students with unique learning needs

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher / Case Manager to join our team for the upcoming school year. This role is specifically for a Self-Contained Math Teacher , serving students with special needs in a dedicated classroom environment. If you have a strong background in case management, are comfortable writing IEPs, and want to work in a supportive, high-impact setting is the opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
As a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction while managing all aspects of IEP development and compliance for your caseload. You will :
Instruction & Student Support
- Teach math in a self-contained classroom aligned to students IEP goals
- Provide direct Specially Designed Instruction (SAI) in-person or virtually
- Monitor student progress on IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborate with general education staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and supports are in place
