Construction Equipment Manager (50% travel)

Overview

The Construction Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, procurement, and allocation of all heavy machinery, tools, and equipment used across construction projects. This role ensures all equipment is in optimal working condition, compliant with safety standards, and readily available to support ongoing operations. The Equipment Manager also manages budgets, vendor relationships, and equipment logistics to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Manage the inventory, tracking, cost reporting, and allocation of all construction equipment, machinery, tools, and vehicles.
• Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and operational.
• Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to forecast equipment needs and deploy machinery to job sites efficiently.
• Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with equipment vendors, rental companies, and service providers.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance history, and costs.
• Develop and enforce equipment policies, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee equipment transportation logistics, ensuring timely delivery and pickup from job sites.
• Manage budgets related to equipment procurement, maintenance, rentals, and repairs.
• Train construction staff on the proper operation and safety practices for all machinery and tools.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements related to equipment use and transportation.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.
