We are seeking Twi (Akan) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Twi, a major West African language spoken in Ghana and diaspora communities, is a rare but critical language often required in asylum, refugee, and immigration proceedings.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Twi (Akan) English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration and asylum contexts.Maintain confidentiality and comply with USCIS / DHS interpreter ethics and standards.Support both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge interpretation needs.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Twi (Akan) and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, healthcare, or government preferred).Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 security clearance.Compensation & Benefits
